Virtual Techniques For Innovative Design

The book inquires into the relation between virtual and real (traditional) design methods, and in which way these different approaches could be integrated in order to reach innovative design methods. Special attention is paid to the hypothesis of an innovative integrated virtual design process, through the improvement and the extension of virtual shaping and representation techniques with tools to support the project. In particular, the author presents a reference system (and some pilot cases used to validate it) which, starting from designer’s needs, could be used as a guideline to develop new virtual shaping tools, as an improvement compared to the traditional solution for 3D modelling.
