Third Workshop on the contribution of chemistry, molecular biology and medicinal chemistry to life sciences

At the end of each academic year, usually in October, 1st and 2nd year students in “Metodologie per lo Sviluppo di Molecole di Interesse Farmacologico”, a PhD school active at the University of Calabria, present, in English, their results in a workshop whose format includes an invited lecture given by an expert in a specific field of research. This year, the extended abstracts of each contribution presented at 3rd workshop on “The Contribution of Chemistry, Molecular Biology and Medicinal Chemistry to Life Sciences” held at the Convention Center of the University of Calabria on October 25, 2005, are collected in the present book. The opening chapter is a contribution of professor Banoub of the Memorial University of St. John’s at Newfoundland, Canada, the others includes applications on phyto–, food, environmental, pharmaceutical and synthetic organic chemistry as well as in proteomics.
