The real measures of the (flat) Earth

The shape of the Earth was always a controversial matter. Maybe, you are taking for granted the globe is a scientific fact. And a fact proved beyond possibility of contradiction. But is it really like that? Anyway, the idea of the Earth being flat has survived till now. And, more important, there are good scientific reasons to take this possibility into account.
