Mention Jonah and most people will say “The Fish”. Check any translation and you will see that “the whale”, hardly ferocious, is occupying three verses of the second chapter. The book of Jonah is perhaps the most controversial book in the Old Testament, if not the entire Bible. The book is full of miracles, and that offends the rationalistic mind of modern man.
