SEBD 2005. Proceedings of the 13/th Italian Symposium on advanced database systems (Brixen-Bozen, 19-22 June 2005)

This symposium is the annual forum of the Italian Database research community, which enables exchange of ideas and experiences between researchers from academia and industry workingin the database field. The Program Committee is composed of 20 members representing many of the Database research groups in Italy. The members of the Program Committee were pleased by the high quality of the submissions, and worked hard to select 42 out of 57 submitted papers. The programme of the symposium features three invited talks, by Rick Hull, Laks Lakshmanan and Dan Suciu, and two invited tutorials, one by Luigi Palopoli, and the other one held jointly by John Mylopoulos and Alex Borgida. The paper presentations are organized in 10 technical sessions on Web Information Systems, Information Integration, Data Models, Semistructured Data Management, Query Answering and Optimisation, Schema Mapping and Transformation, and Knowledge Discovery, Data Mining and Information Retrieval.
