The following collection of papers tends to a reflection on the practical application of certain aspects of modern linguistic theory and of a few current language teaching approaches to the ESOL classroom. These papers attempt to analyse key factors in language and language learning theory, considering how they can influence and inform ESOL instruction.Luigi Ferrara is an adjunct professor of English at the Università degli Studi di Napoli, L’Orientale. He also manages a small private language school in Southern Italy and teaches EFL and ESP freelance in variety of settings, both in the private and public sector. He holds an Italian MA in Comparative Studies as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in TESOL and the Trinity College London Licentiate Diploma in TESOL.
