Learner translation corpora. Exploring regularities and variation in student translation

A still underexplored research area within corpus-based translation studies, learner translation has been gaining remarkable interest and momentum during the last two decades. Learner translation corpora – Exploring regularities and variation in student translation represents the first book–length exploration of the affordances of these novel corpus resources. The book provides a state-of–the–art account of this burgeoning research field, offering a detailed and comprehensive description of its theoretical and methodological background, and demonstrates through empirical case studies based on the English–Italian language combination how learner translation corpora can contribute to better descriptions of student translation as well as to theoretical, methodological and descriptive advances in corpus-based translation studies.
