International Protection Of Cultural Property And National Legal Systems

In February 2008, a group of 23 practitioners from 21 different countries took part in the Seminar for Advanced Studies on the “International Protection of Cultural Property” organized by the Hague Academy of International Law. Some months later, some of the participants had decided to publish a book together where each of the authors analyses the international protection of cultural property from his or her own respective national perspective. Three articles deal with the protection of the World Heritage in Morocco, Brazil and Germany; two articles treat problems of the protection and restitution of movable cultural property in Belgium and Italy; three articles explain the protection policies in Brazil, Russia and Burkina Faso.
